Eurotech at the Dachau Memorial
It was a hot day when Eurotech students visited the site of the Dachau Concentration camp. At the entrance to the camp stands a gate which reads "Arbeit macht frei" or "Work will set you free".
Tour guide Claudia explained that twice every day, men and women would stand in the expansive courtyard at the camp to be counted by the SS officers.
Conditions were harsh for the prisoners and became worse as the war progressed.
The site now stands as a memorial for those who died in the camp, and for all victims of the war.
"I'm glad I went," one student remarked, "It's incredibly sad, but I think it's important to see things like this. It makes me understand the past better and I think it is important for people to understand so that history does not repeat itself."
