EuroTech takes off!
8/7/2011
We boarded the jet to Heathrow right on time and took off for London. The wisest slept on the plane, because we knew it would be a rough day getting used to the 5 hour time difference.

We arrived in Heathrow early (and I mean early, 2:00 am eastern, 7:00 London time) and made it through customs.

Our trusty, blue tour bus pulled up outside of Heathrow and our driver, Harry, began the hour-long trek into the city. Harry is from Germany, and so is the bus, so it was a bit of an adventure navigating the seemingly backward London streets.

First stop: the Tower of London!
Students absorbed the rich and twisted history of the tower of London, despite any jet-lag side effects. The weather was uncommonly nice and it was a great way to initiate our visit to London.

The tour was awesome, but at this point in the day we were slowly turning into jet-lag zombies. So, we headed to the London City Hotel in Brick Lane for a little freshening up. Not enough time to take a nap though, because we were scheduled for dinner at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese on Fleet Street, a pub that was RE-built in 1667 (!!!) and serves a lot of traditional english pub fare. Kidney pudding & custard, yum (not together, of course)!

At long last, it was back to the hotel for BED. Never did a hotel pillow look so inviting.
Need to look snappy for an early and interesting day tomorrow at JPMorgan Chase & Co. at 125 London Wall...
As the locals say here: cheers!
